BIO
Tracey Reeves is an accomplished communications and marketing professional with more than 15 years of experience in higher education and a deep commitment to advancing the industry. She brings expertise in strategic messaging, crisis communication, issues management, media relations, and brand development.
Tracey joined the RW Jones Agency in 2025 as Vice President, following leadership roles at both public and private institutions. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Before that, she was Vice President for Communications and Marketing at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where she provided strategic counsel to the President and senior leadership while developing an integrated communications and marketing plan to elevate and expand the college’s prestigious brand.
Prior to Bates, Tracey served as Associate Vice President at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Institute Communications. There, she implemented strategic initiatives and led the teams that supported the Institute’s President, executive leadership, faculty communications, and a robust research communications portfolio. Before Georgia Tech, Tracey was the Director of Media Relations at Johns Hopkins University, where she helped promote the institution’s groundbreaking discoveries and initiatives.
Before transitioning to higher education, Tracey spent a decade as a staff writer at The Washington Post, covering local, state, and national news before moving into management roles. Her journalism career also included reporting positions at Knight-Ridder Newspapers and The Providence Journal.
At RW Jones, Tracey works with diverse teams and collaborates with multiple clients, providing higher education leaders and institutions with strategic guidance, thought leadership, and practical implementation to achieve their goals.
Tracey holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Illinois State University and a Leadership Principles certificate from Harvard Business School Online. She has been an active participant in several professional organizations, including the Association of American Universities.
A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Tracey resides in metro Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, Ben. They are proud parents of adult twin sons.
