BIO
As the RW Jones Agency’s director of brand strategy, Renee partners with colleges and universities to build and shape brands as inspired (and inspiring) as the people behind them. Over the last 15 years, she has helped more than 100 institutions research, develop, and articulate strategies to build visibility, strengthen reputation, drive recruitment, spark engagement and fundraising, and achieve marketing goals.
Renee is passionate about helping people transform powerful ideas and complex strategies into something that feels more tangible, relatable, and ownable to their audiences. Before joining the agency in October 2024, she honed her experience at two well-known higher education branding and marketing agencies. There, she led teams that focused on creating data-informed brand strategies and messaging frameworks that combined the right mix of authenticity and aspiration and collaborated with creative and digital teams to move those strategies into content that creates inspired and memorable brand experiences.
A proud alumna of James Madison University, Renee earned a bachelor’s degree in Media Arts & Design with a concentration in Journalism. She lives in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., with her husband and two daughters. Although Renee had already planned out their soccer careers before they were born, both her daughters are highly skilled competitive cheerleaders, and she spends most of her time outside of work at team practices, tumbling lessons, and competitions.
