BIO
Elizabeth Behrman is an account director for the RW Jones Agency, specializing in media relations, internal communications and executive communications.
She works with university leaders, faculty members and others to advance their expertise, research and thought leadership through proactive media pitching, training and op-ed development. Liz helps develop effective media and thought leadership strategies for institutions, leaders and academics. Her clients’ work and expertise have appeared in national outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, USA Today, NBC, NPR, Bloomberg, Reuters and more.
Liz joined the agency in 2019 after eight years as a reporter for some of the largest newspapers in Pennsylvania and Florida covering breaking news, crime and government. As a K-12 reporter for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, she covered education policy and 43 school districts including Pittsburgh’s, the second-largest in Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Post-Gazette team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2019 for its breaking news coverage of the massacre at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue.
Liz has a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in anthropology from the University of Florida. She and her husband, Adam, live in Tampa, Florida, with their daughter, Olivia, and their very spoiled Beagle mix, Rey. She loves the Florida sunshine and tries to get to the beach whenever she can.
