Jeff Frantz advises college and university leaders on communications strategies and issues of institutional reputation. He brings more than two decades of experience in higher education and journalism to collaborations that advance institutional priorities.

Since joining the RW Jones Agency in 2021, Jeff has served as interim communications director for multiple graduate schools, developed collateral for major fundraising initiatives, helped address crisis situations, and earned media placements in major national and trade publications.

Prior to RW Jones, Jeff served as senior associate director of communication for the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, where he helped the school rise to ​​No. 1 in the U.S. News and World Report rankings by making its academic research accessible for journalists, policymakers, educators and families. Before moving into higher education he spent a decade as a journalist. In 2012, he was part of The Patriot-News Pulitzer Prize–winning local news team in Harrisburg that uncovered the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Penn State. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife and son. You can often find him out on a bike ride or hiking in the Wissahickon.
