Jeff Canning joined the RW Jones Agency in 2012. He has brought invaluable expertise to his clients in myriad forms to maximize media successes, advance thought leadership campaigns and navigate issues management and crisis communications. Jeff has developed strong relationships with dozens of key writers, editors and producers that have garnered thousands of placements in top-tier outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Today Show, USA Today, The Washington Post, PBS NewsHour, CNN, The Associated Press, NBC Nightly News, NPR and dozens more.
Each day provides a new opportunity to help clients develop and refine their key messages, which keeps Jeff coming to work eager and invigorated. Meeting with college and university leadership to discuss new institution-defining stories, or faculty experts conducting ground-breaking research, always provides an opportunity to keep learning and brainstorming creative ways to reach coveted audiences and advance institutional goals.
Before joining the RW Jones team, Jeff worked as a reporter at The Daily Record in Wooster, Ohio. Earlier in his career, he studied at the Washington Journalism Center in Washington and served as a reporter on the business desk of The Washington Times during a critical juncture in our nation’s history, covering the financial tumult of 2008 and the historic election of President Barack Obama.
Jeff received his bachelor’s degree in communication from Waynesburg University.
He is based outside of Pittsburgh, where he lives with his wife, Taylor.
